Three Everyday Photography Tips and a Book That Will Change the Way You Use Your Camera

Khara Plicanic, my wife, a professional photographer and an amazing educator wrote a photography book, and even though I may be biased, I have to say—it’s pretty
awesome.

In her book Your Camera Loves You; Learn to Love it Back, she not only explains the basics of photography in a simple, concise, and even—entertaining—way, she also brings to light the often overlooked idea that you don’t need a fancy or expensive camera to get great photos. In fact, she says that any camera can be a great camera, if you know what you’re doing.

Screen Ink hosts some of the best art shows in town. On April 2nd it was a host to opening of “FUCK UP: A Test Print Exhibit”, a show put together by Michael Nielsen and Eric Nyffeler.  “Test prints are by-products of the screen-printing process that contain a multitude of layers of color and shape from numerous different posters, resulting in (occasionally) beautiful, one-of-a-kind monoprints”. “FUCK UP…” featured prints from national and international artists. The Freestyle 50 – Skateboard show video and photos

The Freestyle 50 was a show where 50 skateboards were distributed to local Nebraska artists (mainly in Lincoln and Omaha) for First Friday gallery show, in Lincoln, NE at Screen Ink.  There was no prescribed theme to this show.

Jeremie and Ryan who are amazing artists themselves did the great job organizing the event. I helped them by shooting promo videos and photos.

Playground Festival 2009 Trailer: Shot with only two lights and one camera

I absolutely love the production, photography and direction of this Playground Festival trailer. The alternation of slow motion and fast paced editing has been achieved with the camera mapping technique in 3D combined with still photography. The photographer Jasper Faber, used only two lights, one camera and a Macbook.
